Learning is a multifaceted process. Learning begins with feelings of physical and relational safety. A dysregulated nervous system can't learn. For some students, the environment     (distracting peers, differing personalities, loud classrooms, bright lights, uncomfortable seating) can be too overstimulating to focus on academics.

Some students need more processing time, materials used or explained in a different way that makes sense for their brain, or smaller doses of information provided at once to avoid becoming overwhelmed.

When students have been passed through to grades without truly understanding the material, this can create future challenges.

Individualized support can pinpoint and revisit these academic gaps, while learning new strategies to use in the future.
